A FEW MAY FAVOURITES

May has been a weird month. I’m sure this hasn't been the same for everyone, depending on how the pandemic has impacted your life and mental health, but it seems like after March took a million years to end, April and May have flown by in the blink of an eye. I’ve really tried to focus on small things that bring me joy at the moment to distract from the doom and gloom we’ve been surrounded by for the last few months. Here’s a few things that I’ve been enjoying over the past month that I wanted to share.

GILETS

I bought this gilet from ASOS (though it’s from New Look) and I’ve worn it so much. I just love it. It’s comfy but still somewhat put together, i.e. the prefect self-isolating attire. It’s also great for evening walks when the weather is nice but still a bit chilly. I particularly like it over a white linen shirt with leggings but I’ve been wearing it in a number of different ways, which you’ll probably notice as it’s popped up on my blog a few times already.

MY WINDOWSILL

I’ve really been loving this corner of my room. Ideally I’d like to have nothing, or very little on my windowsill, but I don’t have that much space in my room, so I’ve had to utilise the space to be a kind of dressing table. But I have a few of my favourite things showcased and I like looking at it. Because I’m renting, we’re not allowed to put anything on the walls so it’s nice to have some personal touches.

ALDI VEGAN ICECREAMS

I found these vegan ice creams in Aldi and they are DELISH, I wasn't so sure about the peanut butter flavour at first, but they were the only flavour they had so I decided to try them and they’re so good. I’ve since tried the salted caramel which are also amazing. I’ve really been loving sitting outside in the nice weather eating an ice-cream while watching people pass by.

These are things that I’ve been grateful for the past month. These are strange times we find ourselves in and it’s nice to be able to find little bits of happiness amongst the chaos. I hope everyone reading this was able to find some little moments of calm despite everything happening. Hopefully the end is in sight and we can start to figure out what the new normal looks like soon.
