MANCHESTER

Last December, I spent 48 hours in Manchester for a work Christmas night out. To be honest, Manchester is not somewhere I’d ever thought about visiting before, but I bloody loved it. We went to a burger place (that had vegan options), saw a comedy show, had a few drinks in a bar that was playing early-2000s pop-punk (think Paramore, Panic, FOB and Bowling for Soup) and ended the night in G-A-Y night club dancing to Beyonce and Rihanna. Honestly my PERFECT night out.

The next day I spent some time on my computer working at the hotel and then wandered around the Northern Quarter. It’s jam packed with cool quirky shops that are filled with cool magazines, vintage clothes and art supplies; I honestly could have spent hours in each one. I ended the day drying out in a chill cafe with an oat milk hot chocolate as the weather wasn’t great. All this to say, despite the fact that at the time I was really struggling with my mental health, and it was pissing it down for most of the time I was there, I had a really lovely 48 hours. You just never really know where and when you’ll find a feeling of peace. It’s nice to remember and hold onto those moments, especially given the current circumstances,
